Born May 31, 2012 Ava Lenore Baisden spent the first few years of her life confined to a cage inside a dark garage, bearing kittens that were sold for profit. At age 4, she was considered unviable for producing quality kittens and was no longer wanted.
She was rescued by Barry Baisden on September 17, 2016, renaming her Ava—meaning “life”—with her middle name an homage to Barry’s childhood hometown. The two shared a special bond spending only a few days apart during their nearly 9 years together.
Sadly she passed away from renal failure on Sunday, August 10, 2025 at her home, surrounded by her family.
Her family has requested that any memorial tributes to honor Ava be made to Franklin’s Friends to help animals in need of medical attention or find their forever home.
